Thankfully, design gurus created the BT-50 with that exact thought in mind. Unique front and rear suspension work together with a wider track and wheelbase extension to give the Mazda model all the adventure-friendly size and durability it needs. A 147kW/470Nm, 3.2-litre, five-cylinder, common rail, turbo-diesel engine, coupled with either a six-speed manual or ZF auto transmission provide the machine with power.

While the new Mazda BT-50 certainly can triumph over difficult terrain, its creator had an additional purpose in mind. In this case, durability doesn't come at the cost of comfort. With smooth on-road drive and stability control, the truck is well-suited to wear a second, more family-friendly hat as well. Other features available for the BT-50 include Bluetooth, cruise control, keyless entry, dual-zone climate air-conditioning, power windows, six speakers, rear park sensors, and rain sensing wipers.

The fully refreshed Mazda BT-50 will slide into the Australian auto market beginning this month.
