Mazda has announced its intention to bring a diesel engine to the United States by the year 2013, specifically, as Mazda spokesman Jeremy Barnes explains, "It'll be here between 15 and 18 months behind the launch of the Skyactiv-G gasoline engine in the Mazda 3."¹ This means that the new diesel engine will appear in the early half of 2013, due to the fact that the Skyactiv-G 3 appeared in showrooms across the United States in October 2011.
