The 2017 Mazda3 Changes Will Make It Better Than Ever

2016 Mazda3 redThe 2017 Mazda3, like the 2016 model, will be available as either a sedan or a hatchback, but it makes a number of slight changes for Manteca and Stockton drivers to look forward to. From styling to performance, you’ll find a marked improvement in your Mazda3 experience.

Styling Shifts

Mazda’s “Soul of Motion” design philosophy embraces sleek, aerodynamic lines, so the 2017 Mazda3 changes were always going to ensure that it strikes a strong visual note. You should be pleased to know that nothing major has been changed — just a few light touches.

A reworked front-end with LED headlights brings the vehicle right up to the cutting-edge, and interior upgrades include a new steering wheel, trim changes, and a tambour-style cover for the center-console-mounted cup holders.

Safety and Convenience Technology

Exterior changes made to the Mazda3 for 2017 are likely to impress Lanthrop and Turlock drivers, but it’s the vehicle’s upgraded technologies that are most noteworthy. For example, the innovative heads-up display is now provided in full color, just like in the luxurious Mazda CX-9.

You’ll also benefit from improved safety. The 2017 Mazda3’s automatic braking system will use a camera instead of a laser, allowing for a greater speed range and the detection of pedestrians as well as other vehicles. Retained safety technologies include rain-sensing windshield wipers, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert.

G-Vectoring Control

Manteca and Turlock drivers should still receive up to 184 hp from the Mazda3 Sedan’s 2.5L four-cylinder or 155 hp with the hatchback model’s 2.0L engine.

Overall performance will be subtly enhanced by G-Vectoring Control. This will be the first Mazda vehicle with this feature, which is able to slightly reduce torque during cornering to improve steering response and reduce the need for corrective steering. It represents the newest example of Mazda’s central philosophy in action: Driving Matters®.
